Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton To Run For Senate Against John Cornyn
Attorney General Ken Paxton has his eyes set for Washington D.C., and long-time Texas Senator John Cornyn is who he’s looking to replace.
Cornyn has been a Senator for Texas since the year 2002. Over 20 years he’s been serving the people of Texas. And now Paxton, who’s served as Attorney General for Texas since 2014 believes that he has enough support to de-thrown Cornyn.
Ken Paxton is a staunch support of President Trump, and the 47th President himself has been known to be an advocate for Paxton and his endeavors.
Paxton had the following to say when announcing his run for senate:
“We have another great senator, Sen. Ted Cruz and it’s time we have another great Senator that will actually stand up and fight for Republican values, fight for the values of the people of Texas, and also support Donald Trump in the areas he’s focused on in a very significant way.”
Election day for Senator Cornyn seat is currently slated for November 3rd, 2026. Will Paxton be leaving Austin and packing Washington D.C. next year? What are your thoughts?
