Census report indicates over 600,000 people moved to Texas last year

A recently released US Census report on State-to-State Migration revealed some interesting statistics on migration to and from the state of Texas.

The report indicated that approximately 611,942 moved to the lonestar state in 2023. Some of the states with the greatest number of individuals moving to Texas, may not surprise you. The states listed below were the states that had the greatest number of individuals who moved to Texas:

-California: 93,970
-New York: 29,610
-Louisiana: 28,458
-Colorado: 25,369

Now, while we had over 611,000 people move into Texas last year. We also had 478,570 that left the lonestar state in 2023. The states listed below were the most popular destinations for Texans opting to leave the state:

-California: 38,732
-Florida: 37,781
-Colorado: 32,150
